LAS VEGAS (Oct. 15 2026) – Olive Crest, a nonprofit organization serving children and families in crisis, raised more than $1 million at its Champions of Children Gala on Saturday, Sept. 26. Proceeds will help build new facilities, including a Children and Family Resource Center and young adult apartment homes in northwest Las Vegas, which will offer housing and support services for young people aging out of the child welfare system. The gala brings the campaign to more than $16 million raised toward the ambitious $25 million goal.

The evening featured special guest speaker Jan Jones Blackhurst, former Las Vegas mayor, as well as testimonials from young people and families served by Olive Crest. They each shared how the organization helped them find safety, stability and a path forward.

“Las Vegas showed up for its youth in a big way,” said Jimmy Monaghan, Executive Director of Olive Crest in Nevada. “Every dollar raised brings us closer to opening facilities that will give more children and families in Southern Nevada a safe place to heal and grow. We are so grateful to everyone who made this night possible.”

Olive Crest also honored Frank and Bonnie Martin, Punam Mathur and Mason Van Houweling for their dedication to the Southern Nevada community and their commitment to children and families in crisis.

“For more than 50 years, Olive Crest has believed that every child deserves to be safe, loved and given the chance to thrive,” said Donald Verleur, CEO of Olive Crest. “The generosity we saw in Las Vegas will help us continue that for years to come.”

The gala was made possible by the generous support of its sponsors including LP Insurance, MGM Resorts International, M&H Building Specialties, University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, Affinity Interactive, The Godfather, MedSmart and Rize Credit Union.
